Check Lug Timing

Purpose

Use this guide to determine the correct timing of the lug pulse. This requires an operator to run a single board and monitor the results.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Open the Timing screen in the transverse software under the Diagnostics menu.

  2. Select the following items to plot:

    1. Lug Input

    2. Sensor Photo-eye

    3. Infeed Photo-eye

    4. Painter outputs (only used when checking painter outputs)

    5. Port outputs (only used if stock code is sent via discrete IO)

  3. Select between 6 and 10 lugs to display

  4. Set the update rate between 100-250mSec.

  5. Run a single board at least 3 lugs upstream and 1 lug downstream of the sensor.

  6. REQUIRED ITEMS FOR OPERATION (see enclosed picture for reference)

    1. Lug pulse duration is approximately 1/16 of the lug.

    2. There is a gap between the end of the board and the next lug.

    3. Infeed photo-eye present 3 lugs prior to board

  7. OPTIONAL ITEM FOR PAINTER

    1. Paint output turns on immediately after lug pulse

  8. OPTIONAL ITEM FOR STOCK CODE INPUT

    1. Stock code must be sent in the same lug as the board

Any timing changes must be done by the PLC programmer
