Use this guide to retrieve the IP address for a Windows PC

Prerequisites

  • Windows-based PC connected to a network

Step-by-step guide

  1. Start a new command prompt

    1. Hold down the Windows key while pressing the letter "r"

    2. Type "cmd" in the Open text box

  2. Type "ipconfig" then press Enter

  3. The IP Address is listed as IPv4 Address.



NOTE - If the PC has multiple network adapters, the ipconfig settings for each adapter will be displayed. You may need to scroll up or down to find the connected adapter.
